The black iron sculpture RETRACTED SPIRIT (KINDNESS ON YOUR PART) is spanned into a white cube space, a scenario in which the walls become means of resistance and control: the enlarged deployable umbrella structure cannot expand beyond the set parameters therefore unfolding a respectively site specific diagram of forces. It’s potential of expansion is exhausted by the containing forces of the room structure yet finding a delicate balance and stability in this interdependence.
